Burning data onto discs is something you will want to do when you run out of free space, for example. With InfraRecorder, a free application from Christian Kindahl, you can easily burn any data you want onto a CD or DVD. You can easily create a data, audio or video disc, you can burn an ISO image onto a physical disc, and you can copy a disc (directly onto another disc or as a disc image).

You can install InfraRecorder in a variety of languages and on top of various Windows editions; it provides support for a very long list of languages and it supports anything from Windows 2000 onward, 32 as well as 64-bit flavors. Getting it up and running is as simple as downloading and running an executable, then following the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard. Said setup wizard will ask you to choose between a Full installation (includes core files, Start Menu shortcuts, desktop shortcuts, quick launch shortcut, and language files), a Minimal installation, and a Custom installation.

If you don’t want to install InfraRecorder, you can get the portable edition that does not have to be installed.

InfraRecorder presents six buttons on its interface, each assigned for a function the application can perform: Data Disc (burn data onto a CD or DVD), Audio Disc (create a new CD audio project), Video Disc (create a new DVD-video project), Write Image (burn an ISO, CUE, IMG, onto a disc), Copy Disc (copy a CD directly onto another CD), and Read Disc (copy a CD to a disc image).

Using InfraRecorder is as simple as clicking the button that corresponds to what you want to do. Say you want to burn various files onto a DVD. Click the Data Disc button and you will be presented with a pane that lets you locate and select the files you want to burn. When you’re done picking and choosing, with a simple mouse click you can launch the burning process. That’s all it takes to create a new data project – taking advantage of all the other functions InfraRecorder has to offer is an equally simple process.

InfraRecorder is released under a GNU General Public License, meaning you can use it for free.

Use InfraRecorder to easily burn data onto discs, to create and burn ISO images, and to erase or format discs. You don’t have to pay anything to access this wonderful functionality.

Pros

InfraRecorder provides support for a long list of languages. You can install InfraRecorder on top of 32 and 64-bit Windows editions. If you don’t want to install anything, portable versions for 32 and 64-bit Windows editions are available. The functionality InfraRecorder has to offer is clearly presented on the application’s interface. With InfraRecorder, you can easily burn data onto discs and more. InfraRecorder is freeware.

Cons

None that I could think of.
